March 1, 2005: the founder announced via the village loudspeaker that any woman artisan interested in joining a craft cooperative to come to a meeting that day at the local health clinic. Twenty women attended, the vision was shared, the administration of thecrafts and the sales was explained, and the women were told to consider and if so desiredcome prepared to commit at a meeting of the cooperative on the 22 of march.
